Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) in Boca Raton
The look of fuller hair — created dot by dot.
If you can see more scalp than you used to — a widening part, thinning at the hairline or crown, a scar that won't hide — SMP can help. Scalp micropigmentation is a cosmetic tattoo technique that places tiny, natural-looking pigment dots among your own hair, creating the appearance of density where hair has thinned.
It isn't surgery. It isn't a hair transplant. It's the look of fuller hair — and for many women, it's the first time in years they've stopped thinking about their part line.
What SMP Can Do
• Camouflage a widening part or thinning crown — pigment softens the contrast between hair and scalp, so thinning is far less visible.
• Add the look of density under existing hair, a topper, or extensions — SMP and hair systems work beautifully together.
• Cover scars in the scalp so they stop showing through your style.
• Sharpen a thinning hairline with soft, natural edges — never a hard drawn-on line.
Honest note from Sharon: SMP creates the appearance of density — it doesn't grow hair, and it doesn't stop hair loss. That's why every SMP service at Bliss starts with a one-on-one consultation: we'll look at your hair together and tell you honestly whether SMP, a topper, extensions, scalp care — or a combination — is your best path. Sometimes the right answer is more than one.
How It Works at Bliss
1. One-on-one consultation. We examine your scalp and hair, talk through your goals, look at real before-and-after photos, and map out a plan — including honest pricing for your case, quoted before you commit to anything.
2. Session 1. Your custom pigment shade is matched to your hair and skin tone, and the first layer of density is built.
3. Session 2 (and a third if needed). We layer, refine, and perfect — density is built gradually so it heals soft and natural.
4. Aftercare, made simple. You'll leave with clear written instructions — a few common-sense rules for the first days and the first two weeks — and we're a phone call away while you heal.
Is SMP Right for You?
SMP may be a great fit if you:
• See scalp showing through at your part, crown, or temples
• Want your hair to look fuller without surgery or downtime
• Wear (or are considering) a topper or extensions and want a denser-looking base underneath
• Have a scar you'd like to disappear into your hair
It may not be the first step if your scalp has an active condition that needs treatment first — that's exactly what our Eufora scalp treatments and a consultation are for. We'll tell you honestly.
SMP FAQs
Is SMP a tattoo?
It's a specialized cosmetic tattoo: medical-grade pigment placed in the upper layers of the scalp with fine needles, designed specifically to mimic hair follicles. It is not the same as body tattoo ink or technique.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe it as mild discomfort rather than pain — more like light scratching. Sessions are taken at your pace.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients need two sessions, sometimes a third for finishing detail. Your consultation will give you a personal plan.
How long does it last?
SMP is long-lasting but not permanent in the way a body tattoo is — pigment softens gradually over the years, and a touch-up session refreshes it. Your consultation covers realistic timelines.
Will it look natural?
That's the whole craft. Pigment is matched to you, density is built in layers, and hairlines stay soft. Look at our before-and-after photos — that is the standard.
Can I combine SMP with a topper or extensions?
Yes — many of our clients do. SMP adds the look of density at the scalp; toppers and extensions add length and volume. Together they can be transformative, and your consultation maps the combination honestly.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on the area being treated and the number of sessions, and is quoted at your consultation before any work begins — no surprises.
